Father Christmas

Image
It's time for another Christmas challenge at  52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown  and this week we want to see your cards with images of Father Christmas Here is my card As I don't have any stamps with Father Christmas images I had to have a mad rummage through my old (and I mean old!) crafting stash which I had condemned to the far reaches of my craft room to find a sticker. I mounted him on to some green card stock and added him to a card I had stamped with an image from the Bells and Boughs set - coloured in with various markers. Quite simple - and quick but not a bad effort in the end! (No pictures of close ups or inside - still trying to transfer all my files from my old lap top!) Materials - Stampin' Up Stamps: Bells and Boughs Inks: Basic Gray, Pear Pizzazz (Retired) Garden Green, Cherry Cobbler - all Stampin' Write Markers Card Stock: Whisper White, Garden Green Accessories: White Gel Pen (Please do e-mail me or see my details in the top

Winter Blues

Image
Good morning all I hope it's warm where you are 'cos this week at  52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown  we have some very cool colours for you - take a look Please remember to only use these 3 colours on your Christmas cards - thanks. Here's mine I had great fun making this card as I used my favourite tool - the brayer. Brayering makes such lovely backgrounds but I just used it here to create the sky, the hills were created by sponging over torn copy paper. After creating my main picture panel I mounted it on to Midnight Muse card stock which I had run through the Big Shot with a scallop edge die, this was mounted onto my card blank which had been stamped with the top of a fir tree stamp. Now Ruth I know what you are going to say - no decoration inside! There is I promise you. This card (along with others) was made a few weeks ago just before I did a craft fair and I quickly photographed the fronts of the cards before packaging them up in their cellophane bags

Creating a Background

Image
That's right - the title says it all - the new challenge at  Make My Monday  this week is to create your own background. Now those who know me well know that i do not like getting inky and messy so this had to be a 'clean' background but I had great fun and I suppose I did end up getting a few inky fingers - take a look at what I did  I used my my brayer inked up with Pretty in Pink ink at the top of my card stock - I used Stampin' Up Whisper White card stock as this is super smooth and gives a lovely finish for kind of work. I then inked the brayer again - this time with Certain Celery and brayered the bottom of the card stock. I also went around all the edges with the green. Then (and this is the messy bit!) I used some bubble wrap to add some texture both in the green and pink. After making my background I used it to make my card Adding a darker pink of Primrose Petals card stock for my matting and layering I also added another
