Brayered Christmas Card Tutorial.

I have been told recently that many crafters find brayering difficult. With that in mind I have made a simple brayered card and broken it down into 7 easy steps.
You will need:
5" x 5" card blank
Dark card stock 4.75" x 4.75"
White card stock 4.5" x 4.5"
Speedball Brayer
Large ink pad (suitable for inking up your brayer) & various other ink pads
Post-it-notes
Large circle punch
Tree, foliage, sentiment stamps & image to be focal point ie - bird
Scrap paper
Glitter & adhesives.
Step 1
Ink up image to be focal point and stamp onto white card stock. From a post-it-note punch a large circle ensuring that there is enough sticky to hold the circle in place on the card (see above). Also stamp main image onto a post-it-note and cut out.
Step 2
Place mask onto main image and then from some scrap paper tear a piece roughly as above and place on card about halfway down. Secure with masking tape. You may find it useful to have a wad of paper under your card - this makes the brayering smoother.
Step 3
Ink up your brayer from the large ink pad making sure that it is evenly coated with ink. (The beauty of the speedball brayer is it is cream coloured so you can see if you have left any patches). On scrap paper then take off some of the ink. Holding the brayer at an angle on your scrap take off the ink from the right hand edge. Then apply to your card in sweeping motions in one direction only - do not go backwards and forwards.
Step 4
Your 'moon' mask can now be removed and using your tree stamp - stamp onto the card over the scrap as above.
Step 5
Remove the scrap but leave in place the mask over your main image. Using more scrap tear and then place on your card and gently shade the forground to give some depth and perspective.
Step 6
Leave some of the scrap in place and stamp the foliage. You can now remove all the masks and scrap. Add finishing touches with more foliage in the forground and add some glitter and a sentiment.
Step 7
Place onto dark card stock and then onto card blank.
All products used are Stampin' Up. Inks - Brocade Blue & Night of Navy. Night of Navy card stock. Stamp sets - Lovely as a Tree, Autumn Days & Pocket Silhouettes.
Hope you found this easy to follow - please let me know if there is anything you don't understand.
Bye for now - Jacqueline xx
